The idea of a multi-purpose court is excellent and the majority of schools and councils have turned to this type of court. It means that by incorporating a mix of games the area can be used by a large cross section of the community, which of course represents value for money as well as providing a true sport facility.
The dimensions of multipurpose courts vary – usually from 37mts x 20mts down to 32mts x 18mts. It depends on which sports have priority and availability of funds. The most common sports are Netball, Basketball, Volleyball and Tennis or a combination thereof. The actual dimensions are as follows:

SURFACES:
Our surfaces are designed to be installed over concrete, asphalt or compacted road base. This latter construction method is extremely popular in areas where the cost of concrete/asphalt is prohibitive. Apart from cost, we find that the resilience of synthetic grass over road base is more forgiving than concrete, giving more player comfort, particularly for young players. Synthetic grass also gives a natural and attractive appearance, is cool and blends into the landscaping.
Hard courts continue to be popular with schools and councils as it is the preferred surface for Basketball and Netball, which are popular sports. A well constructed hard court surfaced with Rebound Synpave also provides excellent economy over the long term, usually only requiring a resurface with topcoat every 8 – 10 years.
SATELLITE SYNTHETIC GRASS:
Satellite is a particularly good product, suitable for school installations. The 19mm pile height surface is medium paced and provides additional slide for the player on the court. This system is very economical and delivers excellent value for money.
REBOUND SYNPAVE:
Rebound Synpaveis an attractive, low maintenance, acrylic hard-court surface which has a slip resistant texture even in the wet or after many years of heavy use. The very high abrasion and wear resistance properties of Rebound Synpave mean a longer life before recoating. Rebound Synpave’s unrivalled choice of non-glare UV resistant colour combinations provide a vibrant look, are more player friendly and last longer than any other acrylic hard-court sports surface in the marketplace. Better still, Rebound Synpave is easily cleaned, to maintain an “as new” look.
REBOUND IMPACT
Increasingly the hard wearing, multi-sport, multi-use cushioned surface is the preferred choice for community facilities, performing arts centres and sporting centres. A Rebound Ace cushioned surface, like Rebound Impact not only reduces the harshness of a hard surface but actually enhances performance.
The reduction in impact on leg muscles and joints greatly improves the comfort levels of players as well as lowering fatigue. For indoor and multipurpose areas we recommend Rebound Impact. Impact is a durable, impact resistant, resilient cushioned surface designed to be easy on the body, while still providing a consistent ball bounce.
Rebound Impact is a remarkable system in that there is no limit to its lifetime - even after 10 years, dependant on usage, the surface usually requires only a recoat of the colour coat and line marking. As with all Rebound Ace products, Impact provides the durability that allows for extremely low maintenance.
ACCESSORIES:
Grand Slam BB735R reversible basketball towers are approved by Queensland State works and are manufactured to meet a wind load rating of W33, W41 or W50 depending on your location. The towers come with reinforced cages and sleeves, which are installed as per industry requirements. All multipurpose public and school use courts are now required to have goal post padding and we recommend Grand Slam GPP15 post pads.
We also recommend Grand Slam TNPB Black powder coated tennis posts with NWB external winder and TN3SJPP Tennis Net with double mesh for the first five rows. The posts are provided with construction sleeves and caps which enable the posts to be removed for the installation of volleyball posts.
We recommend Grand Slam VBP103 Competition Volleyball posts and standard competition VPT 304S volleyball net.
